Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam but struggling in this year’s ODI World Cup, has had a rough time of it. Their chances of making it to the semi-finals are dim after they lost three of their first five games, putting Pakistan fans on the edge of their seats.
At the outset of the ODI World Cup, Pakistan‘s performance was met with a great deal of optimism and anticipation. They have a long tradition of success in cricket, and their current roster is full of outstanding players. However, actual events have been quite different from their anticipations.
The team’s performances have been forgettable thus far, as seen by their record of losing 3 games out of 5. This poor performance history has thrown doubt on their ability to advance to the semifinals. The hopes and expectations of Pakistani cricket fans have faded.
Babar Azam, captain of the Pakistani side, has taken the brunt of the heat from Pakistan fans and veterans. Many have voiced their opinion that the team’s poor performance necessitates the removal of the 29-year-old batter from his role as captain. Babar, as captain, is now under more scrutiny than ever before and struggling under the burden of high expectations.
Iman Wasim Responds To A Fan’s Question Of Babar Azam Apologising To Him
In spite of all the negative press, Pakistan’s all-rounder Imad Wasim has provided some encouragement. He thinks Babar Azam can win back the forgiveness and glory with a World Cup triumph. One viewer of the Pakistani TV programme “Haarna Mana Hai” said to Imad Wasim quoting Hafeez that Babar should issue a note of apology to Imad. Imad replied back and said that there is no need of such an apology and that everyone would forgive him if he leads Pakistan to World Cup glory.
Replying to which, Imad said, “If Babar Azam wins us the World Cup, the whole nation will forgive him. It’s not about asking for forgiveness from me, it’s about winning the tournament only,” said Imad Wasim.
