Bollywood actress-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna is known for speaking her heart out. Recently, Twinkle finally addressed her decade-old controversy.
For the unversed, it was back in 2010, there were reports that Twinkle performed at underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s private parties. Even her husband Akshay Kumar had opened up about the controversy back then.
During a press meet in 2010, Akshay Kumar shared, “I got no idea from where all these stories come from. If these stories were true, my house would have been raided. Not a single constable has come to my house from the day this story was reported. These reports do disturb me. But I have spent 20 years in the industry and by now I have got used to it.”
Did Twinkle Khanna Performed For Dawood Ibrahim In His Parties? The Actress Finally Opens Up
Now after so many years of that controversy, Twinkle Khanna has opened up about the controversy. In her latest column for the Times of India, Twinkle Khanna called out ‘media fabrications’ and wrote: “We have already witnessed a spate of manipulated news stories, from the morphed pictures that showed the Phogats smiling during the wrestler’s protests, to uncountable stories about the origin of the coronavirus.”
She added: “I have even seen my name on a mainstream television channel ticker saying I had performed a medley of songs for Dawood. Considering that even my children think my dancing skills are akin to watching a WWF match between a lone wrestler and gravity, the news channels should have known that Dawood would have chosen more skilled performers. But such is the world of fake news.”

Twinkle Khanna never misses an opportunity to playfully tease her beloved husband, Akshay Kumar. In one of her earlier blogs, she humorously compared his dance moves to digging another oil well, complete with the imagery of the stage reaching deep into the soil of Jamnagar.
In her column as ‘Mrs. Funnybones,’ Twinkle also shared the reason for their absence from the Ambanis’ festivities, citing her daughter’s flu as the cause. Her witty and candid writing style always adds a touch of humor to everyday situations. An excerpt from Twinkle’s note can be read as:
“He then performs a punching dance step that he repeats 33 times with so much force that it feels like he is about to dig another oil well through the stage and into the Jamanagar soil.”
