In a recent development, Delhi Police have successfully tracked down four individuals associated with the dissemination of a deepfake video featuring actress Rashmika Mandanna. However, reports suggest that the main perpetrator behind the creation of the video remains elusive.
Rashmika Mandanna fell victim to a widely circulated deepfake video on social media, wherein her face was digitally manipulated to resemble that of a social media content creator named Zara Patel.
This incident sparked concerns about digital safety, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the matter. The Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations registered an FIR on November 11, following a notice from the Delhi Commission for Women. The investigation involved tracing the IP addresses responsible for uploading the video.
