Today, we bring to you some of the retail brands that are owned and run by our very own Indian celebrities.
1. Kay Beauty – Katrina Kaif
Kay Beauty is the latest celebrity owned brand in the market and it is headed by the ever gorgeous, Katrina Kaif in partnership with Nykaa. It was launched in 2019 with a powerful campaign titled Its Kay To Be You.’ The brand 48 beauty products which is produced in Europe. All the products are vegan and cruelty free, exclusively available at Nykaa.
2. HRX – Hrithik Roshan
HRX by Hrithik Roshan is the first homegrown fitness brand created to outgrow Addidas and Nike’s popularity in India. The brand was launched in 2013 and it retails in apparel, accessories, fitness trackers, workout regime and also healthy meal plans.
3. All About You – Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone launched an affordable clothing brand in 2015 named All About You, which targeted woman from the 18-35 age group. The brand is a collaboration with Myntra and is exclusively available on Myntra and Jabong. Recently, the brand has also been made available in Walmart, Canada.
4. Nush – Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma launced a clothing label named Nush in 2017. The main motive of the brand is to make dressing easy and vibrant. The brand retails in comfortable apparels and favourite wears from Anushka’s personal picks.
5. Wrogn and one8 – Virat Kohli
The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli launched his first brand named Wrogn which is a youth fashion brand, in collaboration with Universal Sportsbiz in 2014. Following the grand success of Wrogn, Virat further launched another brand named one8 in 2016. one8 is believed to be brand that is an extension to his charming and extravagant personality.
6. Prowl – Tiger Shroff
Tiger Shroff launched his own fitness brand named Prowl back in 2016. His brand retails in activewear ranging from t-shirts, tanks, shorts to sweatshirts, joggers, track-pants and compression wear. It is exclusively available at the brand’s website and on Amazon Fashion. “Prowl is tailor-made for the evolving requirements of today’s young, physically-active Indians who want to be fit and fashionable at the same time,” said Shroff in a statement during the brand’s launch.
7. Rheson – Sonam K Ahuja and Rhea Kapoor
Both Sonam and Rhea, the Kapoor sisters, in 2018 launched their first fashion brand named Rheson, together in collaboration with Shoppers Stop. In an interview with the Business Standard she stated that the “brand is meant for every Indian girl – no matter her age or her body type. We have always stated that we don’t believe in a specific ‘target audience’ – one should wear whatever makes one happy; age, weight, body type are no bars! Our clothes are for every Indian girl. Period.”
8. True Blue – Sachin Tendulkar
True Blue was launched in 2016 and is a joint venture between Sachin Tendulkar and Arvind Fashion Brands Ltd. The brand retails both traditional and neo-traditional menswear and is sold over 75 outlets including multiple standalone stores all over India.
9. House of Pataudi – Saif Ali Khan
Last year, the dashing hunk Saif Ali Khan launched his own clothing brand retailing in Indian outfits named House of Pataudi in partnership with Myntra. “I just love clothes. I have a certain sense of ethnic style in clothes. I feel there is a gap in the market and there are more people looking for Indian clothes online. So I talked to Myntra’s CEO, and we came up with the idea of ‘House of Pataudi,” Saif told IANS, last year.
10. Just F – Jacqueline Fernandes
Jacqueline Fernandes launched her own activewear label back in 2018 named Just F. The brand is available on Amazon is doing decently well in the market.
11. Being Human – Salman Khan
Being Human is a brand that doesn’t need any kind of introduction. This is a brand created by Salman Khan in 2017, on the need to support The Being Human Foundation, a Mumbai based 2007. It retails in clothes and accessories that fund education and healthcare services for the less fortunate.
12. Da One – Sikhar Dhawan
Sikhar Dhawan and his wife Aesha formed a home decor brand named Da One last year. The company retails soft furnishings designed and manufactured by a team in Delhi.
13. Skult – Shahid Kapoor
Skult was launched by Shahid Kapoor as India’s first athleisure brand launched in 2016 on abof.com (an online fashion shopping destination by Aditya Birla Group). Currently, Skult is available on all leading online shopping portals as well as stores.
