The Bollywood industry is one of the most profound and prolific around the globe. Many term is as a line of career which works with the grounds of nepotism. However, there have been many stars, who have transgressed the concept of nepotism and has made an individual mark in the industry, without having any prior background. In this article, we bring to you a list of such self-made stars who have established a place in Bollywood all alone.

1. Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann was a renowned radio jockey and the winner of Roadies 2 in by 2012. Through his struggle, Ayushmann step foot in Bollywood with his debut film, Vicky Donor. After the film was a big hit, Ayushmann went on to become one of the most successful actors of Bollywood.

2. Jitendra Kumar

Jitendra was once a IIT Kharagpur graduate. However, he step foot into acting with several OTD web series, through which he became widely known.

3. Sidhant Chaturvedi

Sidhant Chaturvedi sought to become a Chartered Accountant (CA), stepping foot into his father’s profession. Although, he left that up and step foot in Bollywood with his debut film, Gully Boy.

4. Kartik Aaryan

Before being a part of Bollywood through his debut film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Kartik did not have any background relation to Bollywood. Today, he is one of the emerging stars of the industry.

5. Rajkumar Rao

Rajkumar Rao has established his name big on the list of successful Bollywood stars. However, this success did not come easy for him as he never had any background source to be in the industry.

6. Abhishek Banerjee

Abhishek Banerjee made his debut from the superhit movie of Rang De Basanti. In the following years, he played second fiddle to the hero in movies like Stree, Dream Girl, Bala and Made In China and Pataal Lok. Despite being a kid not having any background source, Abhishek has established a decent stance of himself in the industry.

7. Jaideep Ahlawat

Jaideep Ahlawat recently gave a phenomenal performance in Pataal Lok. He has been an integral part of the industry, with mostly bagging supporting roles to his name. Despite being a ‘non-star-kid’ Jaideep has made it big in Bollywood.

8. Sayani Gupta

Sayani Gupta has been one of the most underrated actress of Bollywood, despite having a lot of potential. With movies like Article 15, Jolly LLB 2, Parched, Axone, Posham Pa, Margarita with a Straw and Four More Shots Please, she has always given remarkable acting performances.

9. Vikrant Massey

Before stepping foot into acting, Vikrant did many odd jobs to lead a living. After trying his luck in many of such jobs, he finally got a lead in the acting business. In 2004, he got his debut daily soap with Kahan Hoon Main. Apart from being a big face in the television industry, he has also worked in films like Lootera, Dil Dhadakne Do, A Death In The Gunj, Half Girlfriend and Chhapaak.

10. Amit Sadh

Amit Sadh took a big leap from television to Bollywood. He is one of the few among the many who made it big in Bollywood, after being an integral part of the television industry.

11. Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu is one of the most successful actress in today’s world. She has made a big mark in the Bollywood industry, all with her talent, determination and hardwork. She is undoubtedly a self composed Bollywood star.

12. Kriti Kulhari

Kriti Kulhari is one familiar face across the country who has left a decent presence of herself in the Bollywood industry. Working in phenomenal films like Pink and Uri: The Surgical Strike, Kriti has made it to the hearts of many fans, despite being an individual who’ve had no link with the industry from before.
