Music enthusiasts are excited as Rema, the singer behind the hit “Calm Down,” arrives in India for the star-studded wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai. Sources reveal that Rema is being paid a whopping amount to perform his viral track at the event. Also, singer Luis Fonsi, known for “Despacito,” will perform at the wedding.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will tie the knot on July 12 in Mumbai. The wedding is set to take place at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
The Calm Down Singer Rema charged a whopping $3 million (over ₹25 crore) for his performance. The Nigerian rapper has already arrived in India and shared a clip on Instagram, showing him walking towards a private chartered plane, dressed in all black with his face covered. His new single, “Azaman,” plays in the background, and he included an Indian Tricolour emoji in his post.
Other Performances
Luis Fonsi of “Despacito” fame is also set to perform. Previously, the sangeet ceremony featured performances by Badshah and Karan Aujla, with Badshah reportedly charging ₹4 crore. There are also reports that Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber was paid $10 million for his performance.
Prominent Guests At Grand Wedding
The wedding is expected to host an array of international guests, including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, futurist Peter Diamandis, artist Jeff Koons, self-help coach Jay Shetty, former UK PMs Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish PM Carl Bildt, and former Canadian PM Stephen Harper, among others.
Pre-Wedding Celebrations
The couple had their roka ceremony in 2022, followed by an engagement in 2023. This year, they held a pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar attended by celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, with Rihanna performing. Another pre-wedding bash took place on a luxury cruise with a performance by Katy Perry. The wedding ceremony on July 12 will be followed by Shubh Aashirwad and Mangal Utsav on July 13 and 14, respectively.
