Ultimately, Palak exited the show in September. On October 4, 2024, the producers confirmed Khushi Mali as the new ‘Sonu Bhide’, stirring curiosity among fans eager to learn more about her.

Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s producer, shared his thoughts on casting Khushi as ‘Sonu’. In an interview with The Times of India, he emphasized the importance of the character within the Tapu Sena and the qualities they saw in Khushi. He expressed confidence in her ability to bring warmth and leadership to the role, adding,
“Sonu is a vital part of the Tapu Sena, and her presence has always shown leadership and warmth. Casting Khushi Mali was a careful decision, and we believe she perfectly captures these traits. We are excited to welcome Khushi and will fully support her as she brings this character to life. We hope our audience will give her the same love they have shown to the show and its characters for the past 16 years.”
Khushi, too, shared her excitement about joining TMKOC, calling it a “blessing” and a “great opportunity” to connect with viewers through the beloved character of ‘Sonu’.
