A SpiceJet female staff member was arrested at Jaipur airport after allegedly slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan during a dispute over security screening. Anuradha Rani, a food supervisor, was entering the airport through a vehicle gate at 4 am when Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad stopped her for unauthorized use of the gate.
The situation escalated when Prasad requested a female colleague for the security check, leading to a confrontation where Rani reportedly slapped him.
In response, SpiceJet issued a statement describing the incident as stemming from alleged sexual harassment by the CISF officer.
They asserted that Rani, who possessed a valid entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), was subjected to inappropriate comments and actions, prompting the airline to take legal action and support Rani fully.

The CISF officials said CCTV recording of the early morning incident shows that about six people, including a woman CISF personnel, were at the spot when the alleged argument and the slapping happened. CISF officials said a thorough inquiry is being conducted into the incident after CCTV footage showed that the woman hit the uniformed official “despite no provocation.” A deputy inspector general (DIG)-rank officer of the CISF will also take stock of the situation at the ground on Friday.
Jaipur airport police have registered a case against Rani under sections 121 (1) and 132 of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita for causing hurt to a public servant and assaulting a public servant, based on Prasad’s complaint. CISF officials have contested Rani’s allegations of harassment, labeling them as an ‘afterthought’ following failed attempts at mutual resolution. A CCTV recording of the incident is under scrutiny to determine further actions, with a senior CISF officer expected to review the case soon.
CISF provides security at Jaipur airport and numerous other aviation sites across India, emphasizing stringent security protocols. The investigation into the altercation remains ongoing.
