Upon arriving at a hotel in Kanpur, where the Indian cricket team is staying for the second Test against Bangladesh, Virat Kohli was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd. Alongside Rishabh Pant and coach Gautam Gambhir, Kohli entered the hotel to a warm reception filled with traditional Indian gestures—he was welcomed with a tilak, bouquets, and a rudraksh. The scene mirrored the way revered figures are treated in India.
Although Kohli is known for obliging his fans with selfies and autographs, the overwhelming welcome left him in a tricky situation.
Laden with a bag in one hand and a bouquet in the other, when a hotel staff member extended a handshake, Kohli had to politely decline. With a smile, he humorously remarked,
“Sir, 2 hi haath hain” (I only have two hands), but graciously followed up with a heartfelt “thank you.”

Kohli’s arrival in Kanpur sets the stage for the second Test against Bangladesh, where he hopes to regain form after a quiet performance in the first match in Chennai. As always, he remains a key player for India’s journey towards the World Test Championship final.
