As the release of her film Emergency approaches, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has urged the police forces of Maharashtra, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh to take action against those who have threatened her during the movie’s promotion. Harjinder Singh Dhami, the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has demanded the film’s removal, alleging that it misrepresents a Sikh character.
Dhami accused Kangana Ranaut of intending to malign the Sikh community with the film, which has sparked significant outrage.
A video has since emerged on social media, showing Punjab-based influencer Viky Thomas Singh issuing severe threats to the actress.
In the video, Singh warns,
“History cannot be altered. If the film portrays Sikhs as terrorists, remember what happened to the person you’re depicting. Satwant Singh and Beant Singh will not be forgotten. We can sever heads if we can offer ours.”
Another individual in the video states,
“If you release this film, Sardars will beat you with slippers. You’ve already been slapped once. I’m a proud Indian, and if I see you anywhere in my Maharashtra, not just as a Sikh, but along with my Hindu, Christian, and Muslim brothers, we’ll all greet you with chappals.”
The video has stirred further controversy, particularly with the appearance of former Bigg Boss contestant and controversial actor Ajaz Khan.
