An old video of Salman Khan denying his involvement in the infamous blackbuck hunting case from 1998 has resurfaced amidst ongoing threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The Bollywood actor, along with co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, and Sonali Bendre, was accused of hunting endangered blackbucks while shooting for Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. Salman was arrested on charges of poaching and was granted bail.
Over the last 26 years, the case has seen multiple closures and reopenings. He was acquitted in 2016, but convicted again in 2018 before being released on bail. The blackbuck is considered sacred by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, which led to ongoing tensions.
In the recently resurfaced interview clip from 2008, shared on Reddit, Salman claims that he wasn’t responsible for killing the blackbuck.
When the interviewer, referring to him as a ‘victim of ignorance,’ suggests that Salman wouldn’t have shot the animal if he had known it was endangered, Salman responds, “There’s a long story there. And… I wasn’t the one who shot the blackbuck.” When asked about taking the blame without naming anyone else, Salman remarks, “There’s no point.” He also sarcastically describes his time in jail as ‘a lot of fun,’ sparking fan theories and discussions online, with many defending their favorite superstar.

Currently, Salman is hosting Bigg Boss 18 and was expected to appear in a cameo as Chulbul Pandey in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. However, recent reports suggest the cameo was cancelled following the assassination of his close friend, politician Baba Siddique. Salman will next appear in A.R. Murugadoss’s upcoming film Sikandar.
