A pitbull named Jenny showcased her incredible bravery and loyalty by saving the lives of several children in Jhansi’s Shiv Ganesh Colony. The courageous dog attacked and killed a highly venomous King Cobra that had slithered into a garden where the children of a domestic help were playing, preventing what could have been a deadly situation.
As reported by NDTV, the children started screaming upon spotting the cobra. Jenny, who was tied at the other end of the garden, immediately reacted to the danger. She broke free from her leash and rushed to confront the snake. In a video that has now gone viral online, Jenny can be seen violently shaking her head with the snake clenched tightly between her jaws. After an intense five-minute battle, the cobra succumbed to its injuries.
Jenny’s owner, Punjab Singh, was not at home during the incident. He later expressed immense relief and gratitude for the dog’s quick action. “If the snake had entered the house, anything could have happened. I wasn’t home, but my son and the children were. Jenny saved their lives,” Singh said, acknowledging the life-saving instincts of the pitbull.

This wasn’t Jenny’s first encounter with a snake. According to Singh, the brave dog had previously killed around eight to ten snakes. Due to the house’s proximity to fields, snake encounters are common, especially during the rainy season.
Singh emphasized the importance of appreciating animals, particularly those like pitbulls, which often face negative stereotypes. “People often say negative things about pitbulls, but mine has never harmed anyone. Jenny’s actions show that these animals can be life-savers. She fought the snake for five minutes, and if she hadn’t killed it, we could have faced a tragedy.”
In addition to Jenny, Singh’s family owns a mongoose that helps keep the house free of mice, and he recounted another instance where an animal saved his family, sharing how a bull once saved his brother’s life.
This incident sheds light on the loyalty and protective nature of pitbulls, a breed often criticized for aggression. Raised in loving and caring environments, these dogs can prove to be loyal defenders, as demonstrated by Jenny’s heroic act.
