A light-hearted exchange between Virat Kohli and Shakib Al Hasan during Day 2 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai has taken social media by storm. Kohli, who came in to bat after India lost two quick wickets in their second innings, was in good form before being dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
However, during his stay, the stump mic caught Virat Kohli humorously talking to Shakib and saying “Malinga bana hua hai, Yorker Pe Yorker De Raha” (Virat was referring to the bowler Hasan Mahmud)

This playful remark was a reference to Hasan Mahmud delivering a series of yorkers, drawing a comparison to the legendary Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga, known for his lethal yorkers.
India’s bowlers had a field day, dismissing Bangladesh for a mere 149, after India’s lower order had helped them to a solid first-innings total of 376. By the end of Day 2, India had extended their lead to 308, maintaining their control over the match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
On a day that saw 17 wickets fall, India could only add 37 runs to their overnight total in the first hour before being bowled out in 91.2 overs. In response, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler, delivering a relentless performance and picking up 4 wickets for 50 runs. His fiery spell helped India secure a 227-run lead, with support from Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja, who took two wickets each.
India opted not to enforce the follow-on and ended the day at 81/3 in 23 overs in their second innings. Shubman Gill (33*) and Rishabh Pant (12*) were at the crease, with India aiming to bat Bangladesh out of the game after another dominant display at Chepauk.
