Kangana Ranaut Commends Jaya Bachchan
In a recent event covered by News18, Kangana Ranaut was asked for her views on Jaya Bachchan. The Emergency actress described Jaya as one of Bollywood’s most successful actors, highlighting her powerful portrayal of women empowerment in the 70s.
Kangana acknowledged that although Jaya is known for her short temper, her contribution to cinema and her dignified presence in politics are remarkable. Kangana remarked
“Jaya Bachchan is one of our most successful actors. Honestly, she is known for her short temper but honestly at the same time, I would like to give her the acknowledgement and due credit that in those times… Can you imagine what times were the 70s and in those times, she did films like Guddi, she gave the message of women empowerment. I think she is one of the most dignified women in the film industry. The way she carries herself in the Rajya Sabha… I feel very good that there is such good representation from the film industry.”
When addressing her public dispute with Jaya Bachchan, which stemmed from Jaya’s criticism of Kangana’s comments about the drug issue in Bollywood in 2020, Kangana showed respect. She stated,
“”If we say something to each other… I feel these are our elders, if they say something, it’s not bad.”
Kangana seemed to downplay the tension, suggesting that disagreements with elders should be seen in a broader context.
