Jasprit Bumrah, often regarded as the ‘Kohinoor’ of Indian cricket, is a crucial asset for the Indian team across all three formats. His exceptional pace and precision were instrumental in securing India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
As India continues to chase more ICC titles, Bumrah remains a key figure in their plans. Although he isn’t known for being very talkative, Bumrah recently surprised everyone with his response when asked about facing ‘tough’ batters during his career.
In a video that has quickly gone viral on social media, Jasprit Bumrah was posed with the question,
“if there is any batsman who he thinks has been tough to bowl to.”
His reply showcased the exceptional mindset that defines him as a player.
“Look I want to give a good answer but the real factor is that I don’t want anyone to take over me in my head because obviously I respect everyone, but in my head I tell myself that if I do my job well, there’s nobody in the world who can stop me. So I look at myself rather than the opponent so if I think that I have control over everything and if I give myself the best opportunity, everything else will take care of itself rather than giving the power to the batsman that he’ll get the better of me and he’s better than me, so that I don’t want to,”
he said in response.

During the T20 World Cup 2024, Bumrah took 15 wickets with an astonishing average of 8.26 and an economy rate of just 4.17. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Tournament award as India ended their decade-long wait for an ICC title.
Currently on a break, Bumrah’s participation in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh remains uncertain.
