Aparshakti Khurana, known for his remarkable versatility in Bollywood, recently opened up about his relationship with his brother, Ayushmann Khurrana. Renowned for his comedic timing, Aparshakti shares a strong ‘Ram-Lakshman’ bond with Ayushmann, which stems from an incident in their childhood. Both actors have successfully made their mark in the industry, but it was a significant fight in their early years that solidified their bond.
Aparshakti Recalls a Childhood Fight with Ayushmann
In a recent interview with Digital Commentary, Aparshakti shared a memorable incident from his childhood. At the time, he was not even a teenager and didn’t understand the importance of respecting his elder brother. As a result, he didn’t call Ayushmann ‘bhaiya.’ He recalled the day when a fight broke out, leading to a change in their relationship.
Reflecting on the fight, Aparshakti said,
“Then one day, when we were playing, we got into a fight and I called him something like ‘saala’ or ‘kameena’ or something and that day I was beaten up a lot. After that, the conclusion was that from this day on, you will call him ‘bhaiya’ and every morning you will touch his feet in the morning and that is the only way you can stay in this house, or you can’t stay in this house.”
The Evolution of Their Bond
When asked about how their relationship evolved, Aparshakti explained that following the fight and the new rule set by their father, conflicts between them decreased, giving way to their “old school Ram-Lakshman” bond. He credited their small-town upbringing for maintaining their strong relationship. In his words,
“I think once you start doing this, there is lesser scope to fight or to have a conflict because then you can’t yell at them, and you will not say any bad thing. And if you don’t say anything bad, there is no room for a fight, so it’s a very old school Ram-Lakshman kind of a relationship. We have a very middle class and small-town upbringing and perhaps, that’s why things are still good between us.”
