In a viral video that has taken social media by storm, a unique form of punishment is being dished out to a chain-snatcher thief in the Delhi-NCR region. Rather than the traditional methods of punishment or involving the authorities, locals forced the alleged thief, caught red-handed, to dance to a Bhojpuri song as retribution.
As the video progresses, not only does the thief dance, but the person punishing him also joins in, turning the situation into an impromptu dance party.
The video, shared by the handle @gharkekalesh on the social media platform X, which often features local altercations and disputes, was captioned,
“Thief got beaten by the crowd and forced to dance on Song, Somewhere in the Delhi NCR region.”

The video sparked a variety of reactions from users. One user commented, “Avg day in NCR,” while another remarked, “Ye Delhi h meri jan.” Some users also pointed out the irony in the thief’s t-shirt, which featured the phrase “The Boys,” referencing a popular series. One user noted, “Coincidentally, his t-shirt says ‘the boys’.”
However, some users speculated that the video might actually be from Bangladesh, filmed in early August during a period of widespread protests and riots in the country. One user suggested,
“This video is from Bangladesh, after 5th August. When there was no law and order, robbery became a problem. This is from one such instance.”
Despite the mixed opinions, the video continues to attract significant attention online, highlighting the unconventional ways people deal with crime in different regions.
