A video making the rounds on social media captures a tense encounter between a Delhi Uber driver and a Pakistani passenger, culminating in the driver’s decision to expel the passengers from his cab due to perceived disrespect towards India.
The incident took place late on August 10, when the driver abruptly left the Pakistani man and his Indian female companion stranded in the middle of Delhi.
In the video, the driver can be heard angrily shouting,
“Yes, you are Pakistani. Yes, and you are too,”
as he confronts the passengers. The woman, who was filming the altercation, retorted by highlighting that they had been abandoned at 12:30 AM. The driver further escalated the situation by hurling an insult at them, saying,
“Halala ki aulad ho tum log” (You are all offspring of Halala), intensifying the conflict.

You don’t need to hold a high position to love your country. This Uber driver rightfully removed a girl and her Pakistani bf from his cab when they were disrespecting Delhi & Bharat. His actions prove that patriotism doesn’t require power or authority; it comes from the heart. 🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/mFoByyEUBw

According to reports from The Observer Post, the driver became infuriated after overhearing the Pakistani passenger describe the people of Delhi as “matlabparast” (selfish). The woman later explained that her friend was merely sharing his observations about life in Delhi compared to Pakistan, but the driver found the comment offensive. The video captures the moment when the driver sternly advised the male passenger to “control his words.”
Following the incident, the woman voiced her concerns about the growing influence of “Hindutva” ideology in India, expressing her views on Instagram and tagging Uber India in her posts. However, Uber has yet to issue a response. Shortly after, she deactivated her Instagram account.
The video quickly went viral, sparking a wide range of reactions online. Many users praised the driver for his actions, with some even requesting his contact information to show their support. Comments ranged from applauding him as a patriot defending national pride to hailing him as a “national hero.” One user pointed out how the driver risked his job to stand up against what they perceived as disrespectful behavior from the passengers. The incident has ignited a broader conversation about national identity and respect within modern Indian society.
