Significant contributions from Virat Kohli (76 runs off 59 balls) and Axar Patel (47 runs off 31 balls) set a formidable target of 177 runs. Despite a strong effort, South Africa fell short, scoring 169 runs in their 20 overs.
Rohit Sharma expressed his desire to win the T20 World Cup trophy:
