Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, known for his work in numerous films, recently appeared on Dr. Jai Madaan’s YouTube channel, where he discussed various topics, including the challenges of fame, leaving toxic relationships, and his past with ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai.
During the interview, Vivek opened up about his experiences with toxic relationships and expressed gratitude for finding a deeper meaning in life. He shared that stepping away from such relationships allowed him to escape “fake plastic smiles” and move forward with a purpose.
Comments on Aishwarya, Salman, and Abhishek Amid Divorce Rumors
When asked to share his thoughts on Bollywood personalities Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek gave concise yet thoughtful responses. About Aishwarya and Salman, he simply said, “God bless them.” Regarding Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek called him “a sweetheart, a really nice person.”
Reflecting on his breakup with Aishwarya, Vivek remarked that staying in unhealthy relationships could lead to being stuck among superficial people, emphasizing how breaking free helped him grow.
Navigating the Pressures of Celebrity Life
Addressing the challenges of being a public figure, Vivek commented on how every personal event in a celebrity’s life becomes public news.
“Your breakup becomes world news”
He advised younger generations to approach heartbreak with resilience, using a simple analogy:
“If someone is leaving your life, think of it this way. A child drops his lollipop in the mud, his mother won’t allow him to eat it because it is dirty, would she? Life will give you a new partner. The longer you stay with the pain, the more it’ll grow.”
Moving Beyond Bollywood and Finding Purpose
Vivek also spoke about the pressures and superficiality of Bollywood, explaining how he found clarity and purpose outside the industry. He candidly admitted:
“Perhaps I would’ve become a superficial person, living a superficial life. Perhaps I would’ve become plastic myself, among people with plastic smiles. If people troll me now, I don’t care. Because I know my purpose in life, I know what is the most important to me”
He reflected on personal struggles in abusive and undervaluing relationships, urging others to recognize their self-worth and avoid relationships where they feel used or disrespected.
“I’m speaking from personal experience. Sometimes, we go into abusive relationships, relationships where people are using you, people are not valuing you, not respecting you. You go into that relationship because you haven’t identified your self-worth. You think it’s right to have a fatalist attitude, thinking, ‘I don’t care, I can give my life also’. But you have to value yourself.”
Vivek’s Evolution and Entrepreneurial Success
Despite facing challenges, including boycotts and criticism within the film industry, Vivek Oberoi has successfully transitioned into entrepreneurial ventures, rising above setbacks and carving a meaningful life beyond Bollywood.
