Rather than dwelling on his struggles, Vivek shifted his focus from films to business. He realized that he could not let the industry’s powerful lobbies dictate his future. In an interview with Indian Express, Vivek shared how he decided around 2009 to build financial independence outside the entertainment world. He stated:
It was only around the 2009 mark when I decided I didn’t want to be completely dependent on this but build my economic independence. I didn’t want to be in a situation where a lobby could decide your future. Somebody could bully you into doing something because they controlled things.”
Business had always been a backup plan for Vivek. He redirected his energy and passion into entrepreneurial ventures, allowing him to not only achieve independence but also provide employment opportunities for others. Speaking about his decision, he said:
“Business was always a Plan B, and I decided cinema will be my passion. My livelihood should be my business, which helped me earn my independence and get out of that whole trap of lobbies, or having to sell your soul or suck up to somebody that is no great way to live at least for me. Some people make a living out of it but for me, that’s not the case.”
Overcoming Challenges
Despite the emotional toll of his breakup with Aishwarya Rai and professional setbacks, Vivek found success by focusing on his entrepreneurial goals. His business ventures have grown significantly, enabling him to build a massive empire and gain a sense of fulfillment beyond Bollywood.
