Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, renowned for his charisma and versatility, has won over audiences with his performances. Growing up in a family with deep roots in the film industry, Varun was introduced to cinema early on but chose to carve his own path. His acting journey took off with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012, marking the beginning of a successful career.
Despite his stardom, Varun has maintained a grounded demeanor. However, in recent years, he has faced allegations of inappropriate behavior towards his co-stars Kiara Advani and Alia Bhatt. Addressing these claims, Varun recently denied any wrongdoing.
Varun Speaks on His Relationships with Co-Stars
Currently promoting his action thriller Baby John, Varun appeared on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, where he discussed his rapport with his co-stars. When asked about being playful on set, Varun responded:
“Chhedam-chhaadi (teasing), if it is done in a happy, good space, whether with a man or a woman, is all in fun. I have fun with my male co-stars as well, but nobody talks about that.”
Incidents Involving Kiara Advani and Alia Bhatt
Addressing specific instances, Varun clarified his actions.
With Kiara Advani:
Varun mentioned a widely shared clip from a photoshoot where he unexpectedly kissed Kiara on the cheek. He explained:
I’m glad you asked me this. It was planned. Both Kiara and I posted that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they wanted some movement and action, so we planned that.
When asked about Kiara’s seemingly surprised reaction, he added:
“She’s a great actress. It was all pre-planned. I’ll admit when things aren’t planned.”
Another incident occurred during the promotion of JugJugg Jeeyo, where Varun playfully grabbed Kiara’s waist and almost pushed her into a pool. Kiara was heard protesting, saying, “Stop it, ya.” Addressing this, Varun said:
“That I did intentionally. It wasn’t planned, but it was in good fun. That’s just how I am.”
With Alia Bhatt:
In another unexpected moment, Varun touched Alia’s belly during an interaction. He clarified:
“It was done in fun, not flirting. We’re friends.”
Varun’s Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Varun’s latest film Baby John, produced by Atlee and a remake of the Tamil film Theri, released on Christmas Day.
