One of the largest film industries in the world is the Indian Film Industry. The Indian Film Industry, more specifically,  The Bollywood Film Industry has dominated for over 100 years and has entertained the audience with comedy, suspense, action, etc.

After a few blockbusters in the tinsel town, it is quite conventional for the famous Bollywood celebrities to raise their income for their upcoming projects. This convention works in the favor of many renowned film stars, who entangle their popularity and venture into biggest projects, some Bollywood stars, who were given opportunities to work in famous movies, quotes such exorbitant prices that the producers simply turned down their roles and found other actors for the films.


Now let us take a look at these Bollywood celebs who are turned down for their roles because of demanding too much money.

In the movie “Kick”, Sonakshi Sinha was decided to be a nice match with Salman Khan. After some of her blockbuster movies like “Son of Sardaar”, ‘’Dabangg 2”, Sonakshi Sinha demanded a superfluous amount of money, producer Sajid Nadiadwala turned her role and gave it to Deepika Padukone. The movie was ultimately done by Jacqueline Fernandez.


Kareena Kapoor was offered to act in the mega-hit, “Kal Ho Na Ho” by Karan Johar. This offer was on the evening of the release of her movie “Mujhse Dosti Karoge”. Karan was forced to withdraw his offer as Kareena demanded a huge amount of money, which is paid to Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood.

Sri Devi was the first choice of S S  Rajamouli to play the role of Mahishmati queen Shivagami, but the actress demanded an exaggerated amount of Rs. 6 crores, which was totally out of the budget.

Madhuri Dixit, one of the most successful actresses in the 90’s has made a comeback with blockbuster movies in 2012.But she demanded a whooping amount, usually paid to the young actress, which bewildered a lot of producers and she consequently lost many offers.

The casting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali was extremely controversial with the lead actor and was initially offered to the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh khan. He apparently asked for an amount of Rs 90 crores, which was not granted by Bhansali and he turned down the idea.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was offered a significant role in Jolly LLB 2 and he demanded a whooping amount of rs 3.5 crores, which was totally out of the budget.

R. Madhavan demanded Rs 1.5 crores for the role, which he was asked to play with Aishwarya Rai, in the upcoming Fanny Khan, starring Anil Kapoor.
