Kusha Kapila, known for her resilience and talent, was deeply affected after comedian Samay Raina’s roast on the show “Pretty Good Roast” crossed boundaries. The roast, which aired in June 2024, included harsh remarks about Kusha’s divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia, leading to significant backlash. Now, Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan, has weighed in on the controversy.
Abhishek Malhan‘s Reaction on Kusha Kapila’s roast by Samay
Abhishek Malhan, who gained fame from the second season of “Bigg Boss OTT,” commented on the situation. He acknowledged that the nature of “Pretty Good Roast” is meant to be provocative but also noted that Kusha Kapila was hurt by Samay Raina’s comments. Abhishek explained that while the guests try to stay composed, they do feel hurt by personal attacks.
He said:
“Is show ka theme hi aisi hai, abhi jaise Kusha Kapil gayi thi aur Samay Raina ne usko roast kara. But agar ap logo ko nahi pata toh she got offended. And what toh log apna cool and calm maintain kar lete hai ki mai sun raha hoon, mai sun raha hoon.. Ab yaha toh pori duniya dekh rahi hai, mereko toh hasna hi padega hehehe… Ander hi ander bhai sabko hi bura lagta hai dekho yaar kitna hi pyaara insaan ho thura bahut toh bura lag hi jata ahai na jab tum itne personal ho jate ho.”
Kusha Kapila revealed she had no idea that the jokes would be personal
Kusha Kapila, who was deeply pained by the roast, attempted to brush off the negative comments but faced rumors claiming she was paid to endure the insults. She clarified that the roast was intended as a friendly gesture and that no one was paid for it. Kusha admitted she regretted not reviewing the script beforehand and shared her disappointment over the personal nature of the jokes. She said:
“Friends, a recent roast I was a part of has led a lot of my female and queer followers to question why did I sit through something that could have been completely avoided and WITH GOOD REASON. here’s my two cents, it was done in good faith and for a friend. Nobody has been paid (neither comics nor guests) for it. So the argument that people are “being paid big fat cheques to hear their insults” is baseless.”
