Sabki shaan- Bhaijaan , Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer sequel to Ek Tha Tiger , Tiger Zinda Hai has not surprisingly grossed the second highest opening collection of 2017 for Hindi movies. It has been rated 2.5/5 by the Hindustan times and Indian express.

The glamorous duo of Katrina and Salman have yet again made the fans go beserk with the action sequences. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar this movie has cost it’s producers 1.4 billion INR excluding the fees of Salman Khan, produced by Yash Raj Films.

It has been released in Hindi, Arabic and English languages. The music is by the successful duo musicians Vishal-Shekhar.

This much-awaited film is also going to be embroiled in a political controversy. Issues have been raised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena leaders about the loss of screens to Marathi films like Deva and Ek Atrangi which are releasing alongside TZH.

The film is based on the 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by ISIL. In the movie Tiger(Salman) can do everything..shooting bullets and bazookas, riding horses and hummer, jump over buildings, run fast. Tiger himself is seen taking on the ferocious terrorist group which is feared by the armies and intelligence agencies of the world.

But as can only the Bollywood hero, tiger only with the help of a handful of members conquers them and claims his victory over all negative inhabitants of mother earth…We may next find him tackling issues of the other worlds.. the aliens…The ‘JADU’ family.

Zafar’s last film, Sultan, an uneven drama with flashes of promise, seemed to interrogate the star’s persona. So Tiger Zinda Hai had a shred of promise. But here, Zafar is caught between the essence of Khan’s stardom – a macho figure landing fists, raining bullets – and a real-life story that resists that simplification.

Even though the effort is visible it still has a lot to be pondered upon for Zafar. In totality, Tiger Zinda Hai does not live up to its expectations and unfortunately ends the year with a not so pleasing taste for the Bollywood lovers. Preceded by Khan starrer movies like Tubelight and Jab Harry met Sejal.

Here’s hoping the the year to come will have stories worth being understood and being truly appreciated by the critics, and here’s wishing box office success to Bhiajaan’s Tiger Zinda Hai.

This is how much it has earned on the first day:
