The cost of living has been increasing tremendously since a past few years and it has become a matter of big concern for almost every person excluding the high-class people of our societies like celebrities and billionaires. Everything has become super-expensive these days.

But still there are three cities of India who have got featured in the list of Top 10 cheapest cities of the world.

Well, according to an Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) survey, three Indian cities including Bangaluru, Chennai, and Delhi have got featured in the top 10 cheapest cities of the world.

While Singapore became the most expensive cities in the world, on the other hand Damascus, Syria became the most cheapest cities in the world.

The second position in the list of top 10 cheapest cities was obtained by Caracas, Venezuela, followed by Almaty, Kazakhastan at number third position.

In the list, Bangalore is at number 5th, Chennai at number 8th and Delhi at the 10th position.

Other countries in the list includes, Lagos (4th), Karachi (6th), Algiers (7th) and Bucharest (9th).

The survey also revealed that South Asian countries, including India and Pakistan provide the best value for money. The report stated:

“India is tipped for rapid economic expansion, but in per-head terms, wage and spending growth will remain low. Income inequality means that low wages are the norm, limiting household spending and creating many tiers of pricing as well as strong competition from a range of retail sources.”

The report also stated:

“Although the Indian subcontinent remains structurally cheap, instability is becoming an increasingly prominent factor in lowering the relative cost of living of a location. This means that there is a considerable element of risk in some of the world’s cheapest cities.”
