SRK Made A Mistake While Telling Jio Subscribers And Akash Ambani Corrected Him In True Ambani Style: Reliance Jio has revolutionised the telecom industry in India. Before the advent of Jio, mobile operators used to charge their customers a lot of money for calling and internet plans, but Mr. Mukesh Ambani changed the entire scenario by introducing Jio and making calling and mobile data absolutely free.
This move forced other mobile operators to come up with similar or better plans because the users were quickly shifting to Jio. The large user base in India benefited with this competition among mobile companies and now using mobile for calling and internet has become very affordable.
As per last published data by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the subscriber base in October for Bharti Airtel stood at 285 million followed by Vodafone (208 million), Idea Cellular (191 million), and Jio (145.9 million).
When Mr. Narendra Modi took charge of the Prime Minister Office (PMO) in 2014, ‘Digital India’ was one of his most ambitious schemes. And, to make it a success, it was important that internet services reached every nook, corner and specially villages of the country. And, it would be fair to say that Jio made it possible by making it free for the first few months and then very affordable.
Recently, Reliance Industries Limited completed 40 years and a grand party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Mukesh Ambani where many stars were invited. Mr. Ambani took this opportunity to introduce his kids and next generation of Ambanis to the Reliance family, media and the whole world.
Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani hosted the event alongside Shah Rukh Khan, who is a very close friend of the Ambani family. All three of them looked very elegant and came across as very well very well-spoken and balanced individuals.
In an onstage chat with the Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani, Shah Rukh Khan mentioned that Jio now has 100 million subscribers. Shah Rukh is also a brand ambassador of Jio. He, in his trademark funny style, even endorsed Jio and tried to convince Salman Khan to join the Jio brigade, during an awards function.
But, Akash Ambani, who many believe is all set to join the Reliance Industries in larger capacity, corrected him saying “160 million, SRK!”, in turn prompting the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ to take a dig at just how good the Ambanis were with numbers.
