Finally the trophy of Under-19 World Cup came into much deserving and much needed hands. India won the title by pulling off an 8 wicket-victory match by beating Australia in the big finals. India has won this title for a record-breaking fourth time.

Groomed by the Wall himself, Indian Cricket Team played their level best and gave an awesome performance throughout the tournament. And one of the victim of their knocks was Pakistan. India won the match against them by scoring 203 runs in no time.

The Indian batsmen gave a stunning performance but it was the performance of Shubman Gill in that match against Pakistan which became the highlight of the match. Shubman Gill score a match-winning 102* in India’s 203 run win against Pakistan.

This win against Pakistan was special in every way as it also marked a hat-trick of victory against the Pakistan in U19 world cup. Before this win, India have beaten them in 2012 and 2014.

Shubnam give gave an unrealistic performance throughout the match with runs, 63, DNB, 90*, 86, 102*.

The Under-19 Cricket Tournament has given the Indian Cricket Team some brightest stars including the current skipper of Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli.

But the credit behind his match-winning performance was none other than Rahul Dravid. It was his advice for him and his other mates to concentrate on the World Cup rather than IPL.

Shubman Gill became the tournament’s second highest run scorer and India’s leading run scorer with 341 runs before the finals. There were many tensed moments in the tournament but Shubman Gill handled them very beautifully. After winning the man of the match trophy he said:

“I think this innings I’ll rank pretty high. It was a pressure innings – all that nerves as it was against Pakistan,”

“The pitch wasn’t that good to bat on against the spinners. I thought 250-260 would be a good-enough total for the pacers to defend,” he added.

Seems like we all have got a star in the making already.
