Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have already worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali twice before Padmaavat. They have worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastaani and now in Padmaavat. The bond these two actors share with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is no secret.
However, this time Sanjay Leela Bhansali roped in Shahid Kapoor, the versatile and one the most talented actor of Bollywood, for the role of Maharaj Ratan Singh.
Hands-down, Shahid Kapoor’s look as the Rajput king was loved by everyone. He is been getting widespread appreciation and critics are loving him for his performance in the movie.
But being his first time with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and both the actors, he felt like a stranger on the sets of Padmaavat.
In an interview with one of the leading media networks, Shahid Kapoor revealed:
“I’m used to being the favourite of all my filmmakers. This was the first time that I was like an outsider. When you work with a team that has worked together, you are kind of an outsider and it takes time for you to break through that barrier.”
However, Shahid Kapoor also states that he had a wonderful time working with the team and he enjoyed being pushed to the boundary by the Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Talking about Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the ace director, Shahid Kapoor said:
“The best thing about Sanjay sir is that he is ruthless in his creative desire. He is extremely intuitive towards artistes and his craft. And he doesn’t care whether it is 4 am or midnight, or whether it is 82 days or 100 days or what the cost of one day’s shooting is or if someone is emotionally spent,”
Padmaavat is gaining a lot of appreciation and love from across the globe. The movie became the highest grossing movie in a single day in North America.
#Padmaavat records the HIGHEST SINGLE DAY [note: Hindi film] in North America [USA and Canada] on Sat… Higher than #PK, #Dangal, #Dhoom3 and #BajrangiBhaijaan… #Padmaavat is a MONSTROUS HIT there… Figures coming up!
