Violent protests, vandalized public property, gave threats to the makers and actors of the film, and what not? Karni Sena did their best to stop this movie from hitting the theaters and to stop the audience from watching it. But Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat not just hit the theaters but also is going great at the Box Office. It took a lot of efforts and time for Padmaavat to hit the theaters. The controversies of this movie shook the whole B-town.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and all the leading actors including, Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are gaining a lot of appreciation from every one including the audience and the critics. Among those who watched, everyone loved the movie and is going ga-ga over it but Swara Bhaskar did not liked the movie because according to her it glorified Jauhar.

Although, the movie is period movie and is a Historical fiction but still Swara Bhaskar slammed the Director in her open letter.

In the letter, she had stressed that:

“That’s what I felt like at the end of your magnum opus. I felt like a vagina. I felt reduced to a vagina-only.”

Swara Bhaskar’s open letter received a backlash from the team of Padmaavat and now the leading actor, Shahid Kapoor who is portraying the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh has responded to the letter. In an interview he said:

“Yes, I have come to know that Swara has written a letter, but honestly, I have not yet read it yet, the letter is quite long and we are all really busy. I do not know what her issue is, maybe whatever issue she has is with Sanjay sir. “

He also stated that the letter was somewhat awkward:

“I would say that this time is not for such things, Padmaavat has been representing the whole film industry. It is also representing freedom of expression and freedom of speech. It has been really difficult to make this film reach the audience.”

He added:

“When the entire film fraternity is standing with us in such a situation this open letter looks a bit awkward. But she has written about her personal opinion and everyone has the right to have one.”
