Six sixes in an over Playing for Jamnagar! Yes, Ravindra Jadeja smashed six sixes off six consecutive balls during his breathtaking knock 154 runs from just 69 deliveries. This spectacular inning also witnessed an over wherein Ravindra Jadeja hit six sixes off an over playing against Amreli.
Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh are the other two Indians to have achieved the same feat.
Off late, Ravindra Jadeja has been ignored by the national selectors in limited overs cricket. Slowly, there is an attempt to make him and his spin-partner Ravichandran Ashwin Test specialists, and it’s mainly because of their average form in ODI and T20Is in the last couple of years.
But, by smashing 6 sixes in an over, Ravindra Jadeja has given the selectors a reason to reconsider him in the limited overs format. Jadeja hit six sixes in an inter-district match conducted by the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
Jamnagar ended the match on a winning note by thumping Amreli by a hefty margin of 121 runs. Interestingly, Jadeja, who is a middle order batsman, opening the innings for Jamnagar in the match.
The only guys to have come good for Amreli was Vishal Vasoya who scored 36 runs while Nilam Vamja could only muster 32 runs. Mahendra Jethva was the pick of the bowlers who picked up 3 wickets in 4 overs and was more than economical. He gave away only six runs in his spell.
It was in the 15th over that Jadeja smashed Amreli spinner Nilam Vamja for six sixes in an over and stunned everyone. His innings consisted of 15 fours and 10 sixes in all.
Ravindra Jadeja started the domestic season 2017-18 with a bang!
In the open match of the domestic season, playing for Saurashtra, Jadeja smashed a brilliant double hundred and sent out a strong message to his critics who have been saying that he is more of a bowler who can bat a bit.
