Here’s Why The Legend Of Cricket Sanath Jayasuriya Can’t Walk Without Crutches These Days

Former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya is one of the most destructive batsmen in the history of the game. In his long career for Sri Lanka, Sanath Jayasuriya destroyed some of the best bowling attacks in the world.

Jayasuriya is one of the first few batsmen in world cricket who started making the most of the fielding restriction in ODI cricket. He used to play a very aggressive brand of cricket and demolish bowling attacks with his big flashing blade.

Sanath Jayasuriya belongs to the elite list of cricketers who have scored over 13,000 runs  and taken more than 300 wickets in ODIs. He is also the first Sri Lankan batsman to hit a triple test century.

In his successful Test career, Jayasuriya scored 6973 runs and took 98 wickets. In ODIs, he scored 13,430 runs and picked up 323 wickets. In T20Is, the dashing lefty scored 629 runs and 19 wickets.

After announcing retirement from international cricket, Sanath joined politics and also started serving Sri Lankan Cricket as an administration. But, due to poor performance of Sri Lankan Cricket Team, Sanath Jayasuriya and his team had to resign after the team’s poor performances against South Africa away and against India at home.

According to media reports and a picture which is going viral, Sanath Jayasuroya is currently suffering from a knee injury and is even unable to walk without crutches. He has been facing the injury for quite some time now and will fly to Melbourne in coming days to undergo a surgery.

It has been also been reported that his recovery will take a month after the operation and Jayasuriya will be kept under observation till then.
