The IPL 2018 auctions have been the talk of the town ever since the first bid and the auctions ended with far too many surprises. While some young uncapped talents made crores in the IPL auctions, some well reputed international players like Hashim Amla, Eoin Morgan, Martin Guptill, Joe Root went unsold.

But one very talked about bid is that of Aryaman Birla who was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for 30 Lakhs. What makes this purchase the talk of the town is the fact that this 20-year-old guy sold to Rajasthan Royals is the son of an industrialist father whose net worth is 80000 crores. He could have indeed got himself his own team! Rajasthan Royals made two other spectacular purchases in Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat.

While the English all-rounder went for 12.5 crores to the Royals, Jaydev Unadkat was sold to the Rajasthan Royals for 11.5 crores. But these purchases have not caught as many eyeballs as the one of the ultra-rich billionaire’s son.

His father, Kumar Mangalam Birla is the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group and you can well make out how rich a family Aryaman Birla hails from. But then it is great that Aryaman does not want to be someone whose worth is just about the tag of the Birla family but rather he wants to make his own mark in the field he is passionate about.

The young lad is dearly passionate about cricket and what could be a better opportunity for him than rubbing his shoulders against the likes of Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, and Ajinkya Rahane.

This forms a perfect learning opportunity for the youngster who is making his own mark rather than just being a tag from a royal family.
