The Statue of Unity, honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, has got the complete world talking about it. At 597 feet or 182 meters, is the tallest statue in the world. While the Statue of Unity came as a proud moment for the country, many others are criticizing and believes that the money could have been used in a better way.
After inaugurating the tallest statue in the world, India is all set for another statue- this time of Lord Shiva. The statue is being constructed at Ganesh Tekri in Nathdwara, which is around 50 kms away from Udaipur in Rajasthan.
The statue will be at a height if 351 feet, and will be the fourth tallest statue in the world after Statue of Unity, Spring Temple Buddha and Laykyun Setkyar and the tallest statue of the Hindu deity.
The foundation stone for the Murti was laid in August 2012 by the then chief minister of the state, Ashok Gehlot, and spiritual leader, Murari Bapu. Well, according to reports, the work of construction of this statue is 85% completed and the statue will be inaugurated by March 2019.
The incharge of this project is Rajesh Mehta, recently, told that the statue is made of concrete and cement and that it was being built by ‘Miraj Group’. For the construction of this statue nearly 750 workers have been working on this project since the last four years.
