Swara Bhasker has expressed outrage after her X (formerly Twitter) account was permanently suspended. The actress took to Instagram to share her frustration, revealing that two of her tweets, including a Republic Day greeting, were flagged for copyright infringement, leading to her account’s suspension.
She posted screenshots of the notices from X, writing, “You can’t make this stuff up! My account has been locked and permanently suspended because two images from my tweets were marked as copyright violations.”
Bhasker Defends Her Posts
Swara explained that one flagged image featured an orange background with Hindi text reading “Gandhi Hum Sharminda Hain, Tere Qatil Zinda Hain.” She argued that this phrase is a well-known slogan in India’s progressive movement and does not violate copyright laws.
She also questioned how a picture of her own daughter could be flagged, stating, “The second image is of my own child, with her face concealed, waving the Indian flag. How can this be a copyright infringement? Who owns the copyright to my child’s likeness?”

Claims of Targeted Reporting
Swara believes that mass reporting led to the suspension, calling it an attack on her freedom of expression. “If these tweets were mass reported, it’s an attempt to harass me and silence my voice. I urge X to review and reverse this decision.”
