Suryakumar Yadav’s reaction has gone viral after a spoof video of his catch of David Miller during the T20 World Cup final set Instagram on fire. In a dramatic turn of events, Surya’s catch of Miller on the first ball of the final over, when South Africa needed 16 runs off six deliveries, sparked a huge controversy. The catch was pivotal, leading India to a seven-run victory and securing their long-awaited ICC title.
Hardik Pandya bowled a full toss that Miller attempted to loft over the bowler. While it seemed the ball would easily clear the boundary, Surya made a stunning leap at the boundary to make the catch. Given his proximity to the boundary, the decision was referred to the third umpire, who, after reviewing the replays, ruled Miller out. However, some fans on social media speculated that Surya might have touched the boundary rope during the catch.
Several videos later emerged, dispelling the controversy by showing that Suryakumar Yadav was nowhere near the boundary rope.
Among these, a spoof video depicting how Bollywood might dramatize Surya’s catch caught the cricket star’s attention.
