From Laal Singh Chaddha to Shamshera, 2022 has been the worst for the Hindi film industry in terms of Box Office Collection. While one group blames it on the ongoing boycott trend, other netizens, experts, celebrities and people from the industry are of a different point of view targeting the content Bollywood is delivering to the audience.
Lately, a lot of people have commented on the South vs Bollywood debate, and Gangs Of Wasseypur actor Piyush Mishra is the most recent one on the list. He criticized Bollywood for using the same idea forever. According to a report by ZOOM TV Entertainment, Piyush Mishra said,
”Directors of South Indian film industries are more intelligent, have more IQ, and are more innovative compared to us (Bollywood directors). It is our foolishness that we are working on the same formula forever”.
He also talked about some successful South Indian films like Pushpa which, although ‘typical’ of their action genre but ‘presented to the audience in a new way’. He also praised director Shankar with whom he worked on Indian 2.
”In my first experience working with him, I realized how innovative he was. He presents the same concept in a variety of ways and represents the culture better,”
the veteran actor said.
Mishra further emphasized that since Tamil and Malayalam are ‘very old languages’ and part of ‘very old cultures’, South Indian filmmakers ‘research very well’ on detailing before making films.
Piyush Mishra is known for his acting in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. However, he received praise, fame, and recognition for his song “ Aarambh Hai Prachand” which he wrote himself and even voiced himself. This song is still lauded by a lot of people throughout the country and why not? one gets highly motivated listening to it even once and that’s how the lyrics of this song impact one.
