Despite the backlash, Harbhajan has not hesitated to respond firmly. Harbhajan responded by referencing the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, underscoring the real dangers of playing in Pakistan. He shared a photo of the attack, stating:
