Sharmin Segal on the Viral Clip with Sanjeeda Shaikh
As the cast praised the filmmaker’s shooting techniques and meticulous attention to detail, Sharmin, who was already criticized for her ‘expressionless and emotionless’ acting, appeared to take subtle jabs at Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjeeda Shaikh. She implied that Shaikh was an outsider and called Hydari a ‘schoolgirl’ for her punctuality on set. These comments did not sit well with netizens, who harshly criticized her for making ‘rude and disrespectful’ remarks about her seniors. In a recent interview, the Malaal actress addressed the trolling.
When questioned about the ‘insider-outsider’ narrative allegedly created from her interviews with Aditi Rao Hydari and Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin commented,
“This is something I’m not fully aware of. What I do know is that my interviews were taken out of context. Some of my co-stars have kindly spoken out to clarify this. I have a very cordial relationship with both Aditi and Sanjeeda. I wish people wouldn’t use 10-second clips out of context to define my relationship with them.”
