Shark Tank India’s Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta recently mocked the Pakistani version of their popular business reality show, expressing confusion over a viral ₹300 crore demand made by a contestant. The two entrepreneurs shared their thoughts during a conversation with influencer Sharan Hegde.
When asked about their opinion of Shark Tank Pakistan, Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, couldn’t contain his laughter and exclaimed, “Bhai, ho raha kya hai wahan pe? (What’s happening there?)” Aman Gupta, co-founder of Boat electronics, admitted he had only seen clips of the show but found them “interesting.”
The judges were referring to a viral incident where an elderly contestant on Shark Tank Pakistan sought PKR 300 crore (₹91 crore INR) for just 3% equity in his business.
The extravagant request left the Pakistani judges stunned, even as the contestant claimed the amount should be “peanuts” for investors.
Anupam Mittal remarked, “I’ve watched a few clips and laughed because there are some fundamentally flawed approaches to investments showcased.” Adding humor to the critique, he said, “Aisa thodi hota hai yaar (It doesn’t work like that).”
“See when you don’t have economic growth, you will create trouble.
On a more serious note, Mittal emphasized the importance of economic growth in neighboring countries like Pakistan. He explained, “For a country to progress and become a superpower, its neighbors must progress too. If somebody is not productive, they are creating trouble. This goes for individuals too. Same thing with Pakistan. If Pakistan is not productive, it will create trouble. And this trouble we [India] will have to live with. It will slow us down,”
He added, “It’s in our best interest that Shark Tank Pakistan inspires the nation and channels their energy in the right direction.”
The interaction, blending humor and insightful commentary, drew reactions from fans, with many appreciating the balanced perspective offered by the Shark Tank India judges.
