A shocking incident involving Samsung Galaxy Buds FE has left a user with permanent hearing loss, sparking outrage on social media over the company’s response. A user on a Turkish forum shared their experience, explaining that their girlfriend suffered severe injuries when the newly purchased Galaxy Buds exploded in her ears.
The user had not charged the wireless earbuds, which had arrived with 36% battery. When his girlfriend borrowed them to pair with a Galaxy S23 Ultra, the buds unexpectedly exploded, leading to permanent hearing damage.
A local Samsung service center in Kemalpasa, Adana, was equally shocked upon examining the damaged earbuds.
However, two days after filing a complaint, the company offered only a replacement of the same model as a gesture of goodwill, stating that the earbuds were merely deformed.

But this is indeed sus.
I’m not blaming Samsung or the user for now, although it looks like the explosion originated from an area around the eartip instead of the body of the earbud.
I hope Samsung is investigating this issue though. pic.twitter.com/M41uDVOFvB

Samsung further informed the user they could either accept the replacement or pursue legal action if dissatisfied.
Frustrated, the user took to the forum, detailing that they had saved all relevant documentation, including invoices, medical bills, and photos of the earbuds before and after the explosion. A medical report confirmed the cause of hearing loss as the explosion.

The company’s lackluster response has sparked outrage on social media, with many users calling for legal action and criticizing the brand’s handling of the situation. Many pointed out the disparity in consumer rights, claiming only high-profile influencers seem to have the power to hold companies accountable with public backlash.
