Details of the Attack
In the early hours of Thursday, between 2:00 and 2:30 am, the intruder managed to gain access to Khan’s 11th-floor apartment. During the intrusion, he injured the family’s nanny and then stabbed Saif Ali Khan six times before fleeing the scene.
The actor, severely injured and bleeding, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his family in an autorickshaw. After undergoing surgery, doctors have confirmed that Khan is now stable and out of danger.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actor’s wife, was seen visiting the hospital after the incident.
The Manhunt
The search for the attacker involved several twists. On Friday, police detained a man in Bandra who bore a resemblance to the suspect seen in CCTV footage from Khan’s building. However, after five hours of questioning, he was released as no connection to the case could be established.
On Saturday, another suspect was detained from a train in Durg, Chhattisgarh. However, a senior Mumbai Police officer clarified that this individual was not the culprit but had a prior criminal record.
Despite these setbacks, the Mumbai Police remained relentless, leading to Vijay Das’s arrest in Thane later that night.
