YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known for his “BeerBiceps” channel, has landed in controversy following a remark he made on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, “India’s Got Latent”.
During the show, which also featured creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid), Ranveer posed an inappropriate question to a contestant:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?”

A clip of this moment quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism online.
Backlash From Public Figures and Social Media
Prominent journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra strongly condemned the remark, criticizing the rise of “perverted creators” in India’s content space. He highlighted concerns over the accessibility of such content to younger audiences and slammed the lack of responsibility shown by creators and platforms.
“Decency is not incentivized in India – platforms and audiences reward creators who stoop lower for reach and revenue,” Misra posted on X (formerly Twitter).
This isn’t creative. It’s pervert.
And we can’t normalise perverse behaviour as cool. The fact that this sick comment met loud applause must worry us all. https://t.co/tZQNnZuIhF

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also weighed in, calling the comment “perverse” and cautioning against normalizing such behavior.
Several social media users demanded action from Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, fearing the negative impact on young audiences. Some also criticized Amitabh Bachchan for previously featuring Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhat, Bhuvan Bam, and Kamiya Jani on Kaun Banega Crorepati, questioning the credibility of such influencers.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Response
As of now, Ranveer Allahbadia has not addressed the controversy.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time “India’s Got Latent” has sparked outrage. Just last week, a contestant from Arunachal Pradesh faced legal action over comments about dog meat consumption.
The controversy surrounding Allahbadia’s comment has reignited debates about the ethical responsibility of content creators in India’s digital space.
