Bollywood and Tollywood star R Madhavan, known for his down-to-earth personality and charming looks, recently shared his views on Aamir Khan’s unusual habit of traveling without a wallet. While discussing Aamir’s superstardom, Madhavan couldn’t resist a light-hearted remark about his “3 Idiots” co-star.
In an interview with Just Too Filmy, Madhavan was asked about his wallet-carrying habit, given Aamir Khan’s preference to go wallet-free. Responding with humor, he acknowledged Aamir’s unique approach, saying,
“I am never that extreme. Aamir’s stardom allows him to be like that. Whatever he requires, he has people to pay for it. Of course, he would pay them… and it isn’t like he doesn’t pay for it.”
Madhavan on His Independent Personality
Madhavan went on to explain that, unlike Aamir, he prefers to maintain his independence while traveling. He enjoys the freedom of exploring and interacting with people on his own terms, which requires him to carry money or a credit card.
“My personality or fitrat is such I don’t like an entourage. I walk alone, and I like my freedom, and ability to interact with people, so I if I want to buy something I need money, I would like to have a credit card or something. I am not that extreme.”
Staying Grounded Despite Stardom
The actor also reflected on his grounded nature, despite his success. He humorously added that while he considers himself careful with money, his wife, Sarita, holds a different opinion.
“My wife thinks I am generous to a fault. And I am a fool. And I don’t know how to handle my money. She thinks I keep giving it away. I think I’m very particular about it, but she says not even from a remote corner. Are you particular about it? I spend what I have.”
Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Madhavan is currently starring in the satirical thriller Hisaab Barabar, alongside Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rashami Desai, and Faisal Rashid. He is also set to appear in Karan Johar’s biopic on C. Sankaran Nair, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday.
