The Academy celebrated Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic helicopter entry from Karan Johar’s 2001 classic Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G) with a special post on Instagram. Released on November 1, a day after Diwali and on the eve of Shah Rukh’s 59th birthday, the post delighted fans with this unforgettable moment in Bollywood history.
In the scene shared by The Academy, Shah Rukh’s character, Rahul Raichand, arrives at the Raichand mansion in a helicopter on Diwali, embodying grandeur. As Rahul lands, his mother, Nandini (played by Jaya Bachchan), instinctively senses his presence. Dressed in a striking white sari by designer Manish Malhotra, Nandini abandons her welcome ritual for her husband, Yash (Amitabh Bachchan), to meet her son.
Rahul, in an all-black outfit, sprints to his mother, creating a cinematic reunion. Their exchange highlights a deep mother-son connection, as Rahul playfully asks, “How do you always know when I’m here?” The Academy captioned the post with “A mother’s intuition is always right ✨” and asked followers, “Is this SRK’s best entry scene?”
The post received a warm response online, with one user calling it one of Shah Rukh’s most memorable entrances, and Karan Johar, the film’s director, shared the post, expressing, “This post made me smile wide.”
