Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his podcast debut on Nikhil Kamath’s ‘People’ series today, where he opened up about his childhood, education, work, and more. The conversation took a lighter turn towards the end, with Kamath subtly hinting at PM Modi’s connection to Italy.
Nikhil Kamath hosted PM Modi for a podcast, creating an engaging discussion.
“My favourite food is pizza. And pizza is from Italy. And people often talk about your connection with Italy,” said billionaire Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath with a smile. “Would you like to share something about that?” He asked PM Modi.
“Haven’t you seen these memes?” Kamath asked when PM Modi remained silent. Kamath was referring to the ‘Melodi’ memes that frequently surface on social media, highlighting PM Modi’s relationship with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
This time, the question elicited a response from the prime minister.
“Nahi, vo toh chalta rehta hai. Main usmein apna time kharab nahi karta (No, all that keeps happening. I don’t waste my time on that),” said PM Modi.
The prime minister shifted the conversation to food, which Kamath had attempted to link with Italy.
“I’m not much of a foodie,” said PM Modi. “That’s why, no matter where I am served food, I enjoy it,” he explained.
“However, it’s a bit of a challenge for me. If you take me to a restaurant, hand me the menu, and ask me to choose, I won’t be able to do it,” said PM Modi.
At this point, Nikhil Kamath asked if the prime minister could visit a restaurant. “No, I can’t go right now. It has been many years,” PM Modi replied.
While these were some lighter moments during the podcast, PM Modi also discussed policymaking, global conflicts, and youth involvement in politics.
