Recently, a video showed an awkward moment where Alia was ignored by her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, in front of the media.
The incident took place during the Raj Kapoor centenary celebration, where the Kapoor family gathered to honor the legendary actor. Amidst the star-studded event, Alia was seen approaching Neetu Kapoor, following Ranbir’s request for her to stay by Neetu’s side as they walked the red carpet.
Alia called Neetu “mom” and even tried to hold her hand, but Neetu walked past her without acknowledging her attempt.
This left Alia visibly confused by her mother-in-law’s cold reaction.

Earlier this year, Neetu Kapoor had made waves with a controversial comment about “scissors-like” and “needle-like” daughters-in-law. She explained that there are two types of girls: one who breaks up the family and another who helps to mend and keep it together, the latter being the kind she preferred for her son.
