Mrunal Thakur is primarily known for her work in Hindi and Telugu films. She began her career in the entertainment industry with the television series, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan in 2012. The actress made her film debut in 2018 with Love Sonia, alongside Demi Moore and Rajkumar Rao, where she played the lead role of ‘Sonia Singhania’. However, she rose to critical and commercial success with the 2019 film Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan.
Recently, Mrunal Thakur mistakenly thanked Hania Aamir after misinterpreting a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) as a genuine compliment from the Pakistani actress. The post described Mrunal as the best actor of this generation, which touched her heart. However, it was later revealed that the tweet was from a fanpage and not the official account of Hania Aamir. On January 8, 2025, a fanpage dedicated to Hania Aamir praised Mrunal Thakur in the following manner:
“I may be emotional, but for me, @mrunal0801 is the best actor of this generation. She is unparalleled. I don’t see any other actress as versatile as her in India.”
Since the fanpage was verified with a blue tick, Mrunal assumed it was Hania Aamir’s official account. Feeling grateful for the praise, she responded to the tweet, saying,
“Hania, you made my day. Thank you so much, my dear.”
However, as the fanpage changed its name and profile picture soon after the incident, it became evident that it was not Hania Aamir’s actual account.
Following Mrunal Thakur’s response, several internet users humorously pointed out the mix-up, suggesting that she should pay closer attention to her social media interactions. One user commented, “Real ID nahi hai vo,” while another humorously wrote, “Haha, ma’am, you should have noticed this is a parody account, not the original.”
While Mrunal has not yet deleted the tweet or publicly commented on the situation, the fanpage has since altered its name and profile picture, raising questions about the authenticity of verified accounts on social media platforms.
