During the festive season, shopping can be hectic, prompting services like Blinkit and Zepto to introduce fast delivery options, even for precious metals like gold and silver. However, on Dhanteras, a man’s experience took a negative turn when he received only half the gold he had ordered from Blinkit.
Delhi Resident’s Frustration Over Blinkit’s Gold Delivery on Dhanteras
Dhanteras, known for its auspicious timing to buy gold and silver, saw Delhi resident Mohit Jain opt for Blinkit’s speedy delivery service. Expecting a convenient transaction, he instead faced disappointment.
Jain posted on social media, explaining:
“I ordered a 1 gm gold coin along with a 1 gm silver coin, both prepaid.”
The delivery arrived when Jain wasn’t home, so his younger brother accepted it using a required OTP. But upon returning 20 minutes later, Jain was shocked to find he had received a 0.5 gm Malabar gold coin instead of the 1 gm Mata Lakshmi coin he ordered.
“I got 0.5gm Malabar gold coin (rose design). What I ordered was 1 gm Mata lakshmi gold coin.”
Return Window Closes Within 20 Minutes, Leaving Jain Frustrated
To make matters worse, Blinkit’s 20-minute return window had already closed. Jain, unable to contact customer support, attempted to resolve the issue by reaching out to the delivery agent. He shared his disappointment:
“I literally cried while talking to him.”
Although the delivery agent had pre-delivery pictures of the coins, he claimed he couldn’t assist further.
“Uske paas delivery karne se pehle woh coin ke pictures hai par usne kaha woh kuch nhi kar skta even after knowing he delivered me wrong item. (He has pictures of the coin taken before delivery, but he said there’s nothing he can do, even after knowing he delivered the wrong item to me.)”
“It was the first and last time of me ordering something so expensive from Blinkit.”

We were also scammed by blinkit. We ordered dry fruits for Diwali gift purpose. All the boxes we received were rotten and infested. When we tried to ask for refund they closed the return window and not responding to emails. We have decided not to use blinkit anymore so should oth

This gesture by Blinkit offered Jain some relief, though many online commenters still viewed the experience as a waste of time and effort.
