Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal were married on June 23 in a civil ceremony at her luxurious, sea-facing apartment in Bandra West. The couple hosted a grand reception on Sunday night, attended by Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Kajol, and Huma Qureshi.
Sonakshi’s parents, including veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, and Zaheer’s parents, businessman-jeweler Iqbal Ratansi, blessed the newlyweds at both the wedding and reception.
However, Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha, were notably absent from both events.
When asked by Hindustan Times about his absence, Luv, who also stars in Gadar 2, responded,
“Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking.”
A source mentioned that it was unusual not to see her brothers at the wedding or reception, as photographers did not spot them at the venue.
“Sonakshi’s parents attended the wedding, and were naturally elated about the day. However, her brothers didn’t come to the wedding as well as the reception. The photographers didn’t spot the two entering the venue, till the very end. And everyone found it to be really weird.”
Previously, when rumors about Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding emerged, Luv told ETimes,
“I’m out of Mumbai at the moment, and if it’s regarding the news published, I have no comment or involvement in the matter.”
In the absence of Luv and Kush, Huma Qureshi’s brother, actor Saqib Saleem, took on the role of Sonakshi’s brother for the wedding duties.
